You probably don't want your senior class portrait to look just like everyone else’s, and you're not alone. We get lots of calls from people just like you who don't like the pictures they had taken by the school "photographer". Other seniors just don't want to go through that hassle. At David Anderson Photography (DA Photo), there's no hassle and you get a real photographer with a real studio!
DA Photo is not a big studio where you're just a number. We're a small local studio where you'll always get top-notch personal service, and photography by David Anderson, who is the only Certified Professional Photographer ... complete with a Photographic Craftsman degree ... in Annapolis (basically, that means that he knows his stuff!). You'll always know who to call if you have questions about what to wear ... what type of portrait session may be best for you, etc.

At DA Photo, the emphasis is always on you. Your session should be fun because if you have a great time, you'll feel good. And if you're comfortable, you'll look great! Your session will be custom-tailored to give you just what you want, and only what you want. If you just want a basic session to satisfy the parents, that what you'll get. On the other hand, if you also want something more ... like an outdoor session, or a few shots with your best friend ... you can get that, too. Your session will be just what you want it to be.

Think picture-taking has to be awkward, with fake smiles and bogus, boring backgrounds? Think again. At David Anderson Photography, you select the styles of photography you like (see descriptions below). Mr. Anderson knows how to make you look your very best (hey, he's been doing this for a long time). He'll pick backgrounds that fit your outfit and personality. Plus, it's amazing what he can do with lighting. He can make one background look red, blue, black or even white, just by lighting it in certain ways --- imagine what he can do for you! Plus, unlike those "other guys", DA Photo includes normal retouching at no additional cost. And, for those things that might need a little extra touch-up (like braces or tan lines), he can fix those too!

The biggest fear many seniors have is "What if they don't turn out?" Well, throughout your session we'll let you peek at some of the images to give you an idea of just how great they look! At David Anderson Photography you don't get stuck with pictures you don't like. You can actually select from different sessions. You can get what you want, and your folks can get what they want.
30 Minutes of Studio Time. This is good for the standard yearbook poses (v-drape for girls ... tux for guys), plus one other outfit. Great for a classic look designed to stand the test of time. Simple, painted canvas backgrounds with head and shoulders and waist-up poses ... kinda like what your parents had, but updated for today!

What to Bring: One outfit, or up to two if you don't need the standard yearbook poses (We have the V-drape . acket and tie for the guys (we also have tuxes) ... a dressy outfit for the girls (we also have "v-drapes" for a formal look). Solid colors and long sleeves recommended. Bring either 2 of your own outfits, OR use our tux (or drape) and one of your own outfits.
1 Hour of Studio Time. With this session, you can do all the standard yearbook poses just like the Basic session above, plus you can add more outfits, activity poses, and additional backgrounds. Your outfits could include a sports uniform ... musical instrument ... or another type of prop or outfit that helps to tell a story about you!

What to Bring: Bring 3 or 4 of your own outfits such as jeans, jerseys, uniforms, sweaters, musical instrument, football, etc. Remember to bring the right shoes for each outfit in case we do some full-length poses. Other great props include hats, glasses, class rings, scarfs, pets, Plus, we can also do the standard yearbook poses with the v-drape for girls, or a tux for guys.
1 and 1/2 hours in the Studio and Outdoors. What your "thing"? A car ... musical instrument ... pet ... uniform ... sports outfit/gear ... friend ... hobby ... you name it. Bring it to your Artistic session to help express your personality! You can have poses like these, plus the yearbook poses (if you still need those). Plus, we have locations just outside the studio for some great outdoor poses ... or we can make a quick trip to a local park or other location (weather permitting).

Believe it or not, our prices are very much in line with the school photographer (you know, the one you have to stand in line for in a hot auditorium!). We have a wide range of package plans so that there is always one just right for you. Most seniors spend between $300 and $800, but the choice is yours. Our packages are also flexible so that you can get exactly what you want for the amount you want to spend. (We also have some great add-ons that you won't find anywhere else, such as iPod or Facebook movies of your favorite poses, and Portrait StoryBooks that are great for parents and grandparents - ask to see examples!)
Going to a "cheaper" studio can actually cost you more! That's exactly what can happen if you choose a studio with "lower" prices. If you don't like the pictures, it doesn't matter how "cheap" they were --- they're still too expensive! Don't let this happen to you! At David Anderson Photography, you always get much more than you pay for!
