The
Scarborough Plan - Maximizing the Pwer of Your 401K
hit the bookshelves. Fully illustrated with David Anderson's
photography throughout the book, it is written by J. Michael Scarborough,
CEO of the Scarborough Group, Inc. The book has received rave
reviews (5 out of 5 stars on Amazon.com), and is available at
Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, etc.
from Amazon.com:
The Scarborough Plan presents a comprehensive, state-of-the-art system for retirement investment planning. Using both professional insight and humor, 401(k) investment advice pioneer, J. Michael Scarborough, carefully leads the reader through every stage of the retirement planning process. The book begins with a working definition of retirement itself, and carefully works its way through the process of realizing retirement goals. Scarborough teaches the reader how to achieve the financial portfolio necessary for a successful retirement plan, and he does so in a frank and functional manner.
In addition to its comprehensive
scope, The Scarborough Plan sets itself apart through its attention
to accessibility. Unlike the typical thick, dry, and intimidating
retirement investment book, The Scarborough Plan was written in
the form of an informal conversation with the author himself.
Scarborough peppers the text with his own no-nonsense style, sharing
insightful -- and often humorous -- anecdotes from his numerous
seminars and his work with clients.
From Publisher's Weekly:
One of the easiest ways to invest in the future is to utilize
one's employer's 401(k) plan, declares investment adviser and
CNBC and Business Week regular J. Michael Scarborough, author
of The Scarborough Plan: Maximizing the Power of Your 401(k).
More conversational than theoretical, his clear and accessible
book helps readers define what retirement means, calculate what
they think they'll need to "enjoy a high standard of living,
no matter how long [they] live," start saving now and, in
later years, understand how to draw on their resources appropriately.

Who's
Afraid of Human Cloning. As the title implies, this book
explores the current and controversial question of human cloning
from an objective point of view. David Anderson Photography was
commissioned to create a photograph of a baby and its "clone",
to illustrate the book's cover. Available on Amazon.com (4 out
of 5 stars).
From Booklist
Occasionally, a new book evokes a sigh of relief. Pence, a medical
ethicist and professor of philosophy, wants to know how a consensus
on human cloning can be said to have been reached when only one
side of the argument about it has appeared. That one side is the
one represented by such ethicists as Kass, Caplan, and Meilaender
and the recent report of the National Bioethics Advisory Commission,
all of which have thrown up their hands in horror at the mere
thought of human cloning. Pence points out that many of the arguments
against human cloning were used earlier against in vitro fertilization.
The horrified ethicists are, Pence emphasizes, genetic fatalists
who cannot entertain new ideas and scientific progress, and science
fiction and misunderstandings of what cloning does have helped
overwhelm logical discussion. And why, he asks, have women--presumably
an interested group--been left out of the argument? The regulation
of human asexual reproduction, he proposes, should be similar
to the regulation of gene therapy. William Beatty
From Journal of the American
Medical Association:
At the outset, Pence states that the debate about human cloning
is rightfully a philosophical matter because the issue turns not
on scientific data but on questions of ethics, human nature, and
public policy. Successful resolution of the issue requires the
articulation and questioning of underlying assumptions. Pence's
short, readable volume successfully establishes this agenda and
proceeds a great distance in examining the assumptions, positions,
and concerns that constitute and constrain the cloning debate

The Greater Annapolis Chamber of Commerce Annual Directory used David Anderson's photographs to illustrate its full-color cover. GACC, with a membership of over 700, is one of the largest organizations of its kind in Maryland. David Anderson Photography also provides publicity portraits for the staff, administration, and Board of Directors.
The Perfect Baby, a Rowman and Littlefield book written by Glenn McGee, Ph.D., focuses on the complex territory of genetic medicine and offers new insights for individual decisions and public policy. It has received outstanding reviews from the medical community and bioethicists, and is being distributed worldwide by National Book Network of Lanham, Maryland.

Glenn McGee is a philosopher at the Center for Bioethics in Philadelphia,
but The Perfect Baby is no dry or abstract tome. "Philosophical
systems must be tested where the rubber meets the road,"
says McGee, and he discusses ethical issues in human reproduction
with a focus on real people and real choices. McGee's approach
is based on the pragmatism of American philosophers William James
and John Dewey, brought up to date by looking at "the ideas
that are in play in our actual...

Child magazine recently ran our photo of singer Diana Ross, along with Congressman Joe Kennedy for an article about National Children's Day. Miss Ross was the national spokesperson for this event, and we were privileged to escort her and her two daughters to the U.S. Capitol Building for a photo session.
Hydraulics & Pneumatics magazine ... ran our photos full-color to best illustrate their feature on the GTE / Sylvania plant in Seymour, Indiana. The GTE plant makes automotive and miniature lighting, and these photographs demonstrated some of their processes.
Land and Water, "The Magazine for the Erosion Control and Water Management Industry", ... printed our illustrations in an article highlighting D&D Machine and Hydraulics, and Oleum Corporation. These Florida companies are concerned with providing their customers with environmentally safe products, and this February/March article showed how they do that.
Municipal Maryland is the official publication of the Maryland Municipal League. Our photographs were printed on 4 of the 16 pages, including the front cover. David Anderson Photography was the official photographer for the City of New Carrollton, which was spotlighted in the issue.
OEM Off-Highway magazine ... featured our color and black and white photographs in their recent edition which highlighted D&D Machine and Hydraulics of Ft. Myers, Florida.
